Summerwood

Summerwood is a Newland master planned community located just off of Beltway 8 in Northeast Houston. Sitting on 1,500 wooded acres, with nearly 200 of those acres dedicated to recreational amenities, this is a great community to consider when looking to buy in the Houston area. This community is just minutes from the new Generation Park area. With the recent announcement by FMC Technologies that they will be consolidating all of their Houston campuses to their new site in Generation Park this makes Summerwood an ideal choice for FMC home buyers.

Summerwood Life

Summerwood offers 3 public swimming pools, tennis courts, wide greenbelt trails, fitness center, and so much more that it’s easy to find reasons not to stray too far from home. Conveniently located near HEB and with the recent addition of Starbucks the area is constantly adding more shopping opportunities making the area a true destination living area. Just to the West of Summerwood is Duessen Park, a 309 acre park that offers boat launches, fishing piers, picnic areas, walking trails and a variety of outdoor activities. Another outstanding feature at Duessen Park is the dog park, which offers areas for both large and small breeds.

Summerwood Homes

Summerwood has a great selection of home sizes and price ranges to fit just about any need or budget. With just over 4000 homes in this master planned community, Summerwood has a good variety of neighborhoods to make a large community feel more like a small town setting. Summerwood is located in the Humble Independent School District one of the highest ranked in the Houston area. With easy access to Beltway 8 and the new widening of the on ramps to Highway 59, Summerwood is an easy commute to downtown. With so many great homes to choose from, activities to enjoy, and places to visit, the master planned community of Summerwood needs to be on your list when looking for a place to live in Houston.

2614 Deer Mountain Ct. has space inside and out.

March 28th, 2014

2614 Deer Mountain Ct. has space inside and out. This home is a 4000 plus square foot Kingwood home that can be used in a 6 bedroom configuration. Two living areas and lots of extra spaces to use in any number of ways makes this the perfect house for anyone looking for some elbow room. That usually means no yard, but this Kingwood home breaks the mold. Over 14,000 square feet in this lot means that the heated in ground pool and massive covered patio don’t dominate the back yard. You can see that because there is a full playgound system, room for a basketball goal and that’s just on one side of the back yard. If you need plenty of room inside and out 2614 Deer Mountain Ct. is the place for you.

2614 deer mountain ctThis custom Kingwood home is in the prestigious Kings Point Village neighborhood. Situated on an end cul-de-sac lot and sporting 3 garage stalls this home has it all. The cozy formal living room is just waiting for friends to sit and catch up on life while the large den holds room for the whole family. With a thoroughly modern kitchen and all that space the next family gathering needs to be here.

Step into the back yard and try to decide why you would ever go back inside. The heated pool and spa are probably enough for most, but when you see the custom patio, cooking outside could become a way of life. Sit and relax while the kids play in the pool or in the huge play area. There really is a home with enough room for all your dreams to com true and that home is 2614 Deer Mountain Ct. 4215 Leaf Forest Dr. is an exceptional Kingwood home!

March 26th, 2014

I was told that 4215 Leaf Forest Dr. would be coming to market and that the current occupant is the owner of Modern Home Innovations. I wasn’t aware of their work, but my partner assured me that he does only top quality work. When the day finally came for me to actually tour the house I can only say that top quality is an understatement. If you are looking for a home that features fresh and modern design features, but still love the established neighborhoods of Kingwood why would you even wait to see this house?

4215 leaf forest drive4215 Leaf Forest Dr. is 3,290 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 3 and a half bathrooms. When you walk in the door the difference starts to emerge. A dining room sits to your left and it used to be the formal living room, but they took down walls and added a few back to make a private study. Around the corner you will see that the standard pantries in this Kingwood neighborhood will not match up. They have made a true walk in pantry that will hold everything for the kitchen and a few extra things for the house. The kitchen cannot be described well enough in words, you have to see it. Apron sink, wood island with a pull-out tray microwave, double convection ovens, and a gas stove top complete with a pot filler. The kitchen to living area has been completely opened up with a breakfast bar with even more storage the only thing separating you from your guests in the living room.

The master bathroom at 4215 Forest Leaf Dr. has been totally renovated and boasts all the new features you would expect to find in a newly built home, but walk into the closet and even new builds have trouble holding a candle to this monster. The house is rounded up with 3 bedrooms upstairs each with access to fully remodeled bathrooms. The pool in the backyard is overlooked by a covered patio and a safety fence completely surrounds the heated in-ground pool and spa.

If you have looked all over Kingwood, but  just can’t seem to get those new construction homes out of your mind then 4215 Leaf Forest Dr. is the home for you.

Greentree Village Kingwood

March 25th, 2014

Greentree Village in Kingwood was established in 1977 with the building of the first home and being built out in 2001. Located in the Northeast section of Kingwood there are about 1761 homes in Greentree Village. With the greenbelt trail running throughout and streets lines with mature trees this is one of the premier neighborhoods in Kingwood. If you live in Greentree you can totally agree and if you are looking for a place to move in Kingwood this should be top of your list.

greentree villageWith median lot sizes of 8,971 square feet and and close to averaging 4 bedrooms and 2 and a half bathrooms there are home layouts for everyone. Amenities include 3 parks and 2 community pools. With access to all the Kingwood parks through the KSA and easy access to the greenbelt there are an abundance of places to play and things to do without going more than a few blocks. If good schools are important then you have no worries, because Greentree Village in is located in the Humble Independent School District. You can search the internet and see that Humble ISD is highly rated and one of the big factors people move to Kingwood.

Trip to the Houston Zoo

March 17th, 2014

I took my children to the Houston Zoo this past Friday. We have a membership and go several times a year, but they get just as excited every time we start to plan the trip. The drive from anywhere in the Northeast Houston area takes about 30 – 45 minutes depending on traffic and your particular location. Once you get to the Hermann Park area traffic can become a whole new time factor to when you actually get into the zoo. Currently there are major renovations taking place which are exciting and definitely something we are looking forward to seeing. The streets are something of a challenge while this is going on so pack your patience. Besides, what’s a road trip without hearing are we there yet?

I have been to a lot of zoos and the Houston Zoo is one of the good ones. The layout flows really well and even on a day when you can see that the crowds are bog you don’t really feel cramped. The zoo offers a wide variety of wildlife to view in very natural habitats and quite a few of the animals have been rescued from very bad situations. Just as with Hermann Park there are several new projects going on at the zoo and the biggest of those is the addition of Gorillas. The gorillas will make their debut in the summer of 2015, but several other projects will be unveiled before then.

houston zooIt seems like no matter how many times we go something new catches our eye. This time it was flamingos. A friend of mine likes to put pink flamingo lawn ornaments in peoples yards for their big birthdays. I couldn’t resist taking this one to show her. So every time you go it’s like a whole new world and that’s why the membership is a great thing to have. If you’re looking for a great little getaway from the Northeast Houston area I don’t think you can go wrong with the Houston Zoo.
